Troubleshooting
I have a Network Access Restricted screen…
Your computer has been quarantined from the UNH Network. Read and follow the on-screen instructions, which are designed to allow you to resolve the problem on your own.
If the webpage does not display correctly or you have questions about your network block, please call the IT Service Desk at 603-862-4242.
I can’t connect to the Internet…
▪ Check to make sure you are using an Ethernet cable and not a crossover cable or phone cable. Make sure the cable is plugged securely into both the computer and the orange data jack on the wall.
▪ Try swapping Ethernet cables and/or data jacks with your roommate to see if this solves the problem. During winter months, it is possible for your Ethernet cable to melt if it is near a heater. Be careful not to run over Ethernet cables with your chair.
I can’t connect to the UNH Wireless Network…
▪ View the list of wireless locations at UNH.
▪ Some residence halls only have wireless access in the lounges. (You are not permitted to set up a personal wireless router.)
▪ Visit the IT Support Center in Dimond Library for assistance.
I have already registered my computer, but I still get the Network Registration page…
